Aerosmith has canceled a show in Indonesia because of security concerns after the police stopped a plot to bomb the Myanmar Embassy, wire services reported.
The concert promoter, Ismaya Live, said the show this Saturday for 15,000 people in Jakarta had to be called off for safety reasons, though it did not spell out the connection between the concert and the bomb plot.
The Indonesian police said on Friday they had arrested two men suspected to be Islamic militants and had seized bombs; the men are accused of plotting to blow up the Myanmar Embassy in Jarkata to protest that countryâs treatement of Muslims.
This is not the first time a Western rock act has pulled out of a show in Indonesia because of the political atmosphere. Lady Gaga canceled a concert on her âBorn This Way Ballâ tour last year after conservative Islamic groups threatened violent protests.
