"Sorry" is the first word that comes out of my mouth (or keyboard) when there's a potential conflict or when I have to
assert myself. "Sorry", however, is just as much a verbal tic as
saying "um" or "uh", except it's even worse because it undermines us and puts us in an inferior position when we say "sorry" without cause.
