Dear Diary:
On an uptown No. 6 train one very early morning, it was unusually crowded, so I pushed and shoved my way onto the train, panicking that I would be late for work. As I stood wedged between a backpack and a briefcase, I noticed many passengers around me staring at one of the benches.
To my surprise, a well-dressed man was completely sprawled out on the bench, leisurely napping as the rest of us fought for floor space.
The man closest to the napping passenger cleared his throat and spoke up: âExcuse me, sir, would you mind making space so a few of us can sit down?â
With that polite request, the napping man leapt up and yelled, âDo I come into your home and tell you where to sit?â and proceeded to lie right back down, smiling as he closed his eyes and went right back to sleep.
