Aziz Ansari, the comedian and actor who plays the crass but endearing Tom Haverford on âParks and Recreation,â has struck a deal to write his first book, an examination of modern romance, his publisher said last week. The Penguin Press acquired the book, described as an âinvestigationâ into what Mr. Ansari calls âan entirely new era for singles, in which the basic issues facing a single person- whom we meet, how we meet them, and what happens next â" have been radically altered by new technologies.â
Scott Moyers, the publisher of the Penguin Press, said in a statement, âThis will be a funny book that also shines a bright light on a whole new landscape, which incidentally concerns the future makeup of the species.â The book is tentatively scheduled for release in September 2015.
