The Theater for a New Audience has announced the full schedule for the inaugural season at its new home, the Center for Shakespeare and Classical Drama, in Brooklyn. As previously reported, Julie Taymor will make her return to the New York stage for the first time since âSpider-Man: Turn Off the Darkâ to direct Shakespeareâs âMidsummer Nightâs Dream,â with music by Elliot Goldenthal. Previews are set to begin on Oct. 19 with opening night scheduled for Nov. 2.
A production of âKing Learâ is to follow, directed by Arin Arbus, with the British actor Michael Pennington (âLove Is My Sinâ) in the title role. Previews for âLearâ are scheduled to begin on March 14. And Michael Shannon (âMistakes Were Made,â âGraceâ) will star in âThe Killer,â by Eugène Ionesco, for the seasonâs final play, with previews set to start on May 17.
