âOnly Lovers Left Alive,â a vampire film by Jim Jarmusch, has been added to the lineup in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, its organizers said.
Mr. Jarmusch, who won the festivalâs Grand Prix in 2005 for his comedy drama âBroken Flowers,â wrote and directed âOnly Lovers Left Alive,â which stars Tom Hiddleston (âThe Avengersâ) and Tilda Swinton (âWe Need to Talk About Kevinâ) as paramours who drift apart and reunite over the centuries. The cast also includes Mia Wasikowska, John Hurt and Anton Yelchin.
This yearâs Cannes Film Festival will run from May 15 through 26 and will open with Baz Luhrmannâs adaptation of âThe Great Gatsby.â Other films on its competition slate include Joel and Ethan Coenâs âInside Llewyn Davis,â Steven Soderberghâs âBehind the Candelabraâ and Alexander Payneâs âNebraska.â
